DEA Administrator being evasive to congress
Listen to DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart being evasive toward Representatives Steve Cohen's and Jared Polis' questions regarding the War on Drugs as they attempt to make the point about marijuana not being a dangerous drug and having medical benefits.
The second video is Representative Jared Polis picking up where Representative Steve Cohen left off after his time expired. I think these video clips do a fairly good job at illustrating this woman as either being a blatant liar or incompetent or both in my opinion.
But another reason why I'm posting this is because the topic the war on drugs always seems to be justified by people such as this DEA Administrator because of ill health affects. This pisses me off because not only is that argument totally hypocritical so long as tobacco, alcohol and some over the counter medications are legal. But also because one of the most basic human rights being trampled upon by this bullshit! That is the human right of having "autonomy" over one's own body. In other words HOW FUCKING DARE YOU DEA tell someone that they don't have a right over their own fucking body!
Sorry for the profanity, but I view this whole war on drugs issue as a war against freedom and tantamount of a form of slavery. I say that because when you get right down to it this is a question of who owns you, and when you're not allowed autonomy over your own body, then you don't own you, someone else does. And when you don't own your own body 100% and completely, then, in my opinion, that is one of the definitions of being a slave. And naturally I take great exception to that.
