    Obama is “the anti-Christ”

Obama’s strongest point in his campaign is his message surrounding the “audacity of hope.” And this message is compelling. Well, it looks like the neo-cons found a response that will attack the foundation of his campaign. This is Obama’s version if the swift-boat attack and my judgment is that Obama will be taken off guard by the attack.

It’s called the “Charlton Hasten Add” recently launched by the McCain camp which compared Obama to “the one” with the Charlton Hesten’s role as mosses playing in the background.

At once I saw through the code.

Republicans are scared – VERY scared. The economy is crumbling around them and talk with war against a foe that we can not defeat militarily – Iran, given our faltering economy.

But calling Obama the anti-Christ will bring conservative Christians back into the fold under John McCain, and it will have the effect of radically changing the debate from one of sound reason, to unreasoned terror on a biblical scale. Losing one’s home will seem petty compared to the horrors that will come about should Obama become President.

    Well, maybe, maybe not...

Just because the InSane campaign (for whom St. John does not speak) are selling a new line of Christian-themed shit, it doesn't axiomaticly follow that anyone is going to buy it, especially if such 'trivial' matters (at least to the GOP) such as job insecurity, benefit-loss, incomes falling behind inflation and housing forclosure are present. Besides, this is niche marketing at its most micro level. Whatever problems the X-tian Right may have with Obomb'em, they still have more with McWhine. And to the extent that McSame's Rove-tutored handlers can get him to pander on all fours to the religious-lunatic Right, the more it will turn off less 'scripturally addicted' voters. Which is to say, as a campaign tactic, it might flip a few wavering fundies, but it will be a flop with everyone else.

    Okay

Okay, so I am some what over alarmist with this.

But the point that this will cripple his campaign still stands. After all, Obama IS attempting to court exactly these sort of voters, and is already chasing away his base to do so.

This is how Democrats like Obama lose their races. Chase away your base and have nothing to show for it.
